About Me

My name is Naomi Beecher and I have a passion for teaching.

I have a Masters of Teaching (Primary).

I have done courses in Mindfulness Meditation and teach it.

I completed an undergraduate degree – a Bachelor of Commerce (Liberal Studies) at The University of Sydney in 2010.

After working, doing an internship as a Human Resource Assistant and applying for various graduate positions, I starting thinking about career direction and what that meant for me and what I actually wanted to do. Whether I wanted a career in the corporate world or whether I wanted to pursue something else.

My aspirations in the corporate world would have been Learning&Development and Training. I questioned this with questions such as:
Why did I want to teach adults about different ways, methods, resources, skills to do their job in a corporate environment?
How effective would I be in the corporate environment?
Do I really want to teach adults?
How long would it take me before I actually became a Learning&Development co-ordinator or manager?

I came to the conclusion that I did not want to pursue a career in the corporate world, rather I wanted to teach children. I want to teach children. I want to have an impact on children’s lives, teaching them, skilling them, providing knowledge, inspiring, motivating and leading. I have a passion for children and for teaching and I believe that teaching is for me! I not only want to teach mainstream but I also have a passion for disability and have a strong desire to work with children with disabilities.

I have worked with children and adults with disabilities for over 10 years.
